The Bombay Bar is a permanent light installation that was created in cooperation with Bombay Sapphire Gin for the main bar at the Viennese nightclub Pratersauna. 100 gin bottles were recycled and repurposed to serve as light elements for the installation. Each bottle was equipped with white LEDs and placed in a specific pattern behind the wall.
The theme of the installation is iterative movement. In combination with the light programming, the pattern gives the impression of rotational movement. We wanted to combine art with a sponsored commercial interest to create a visually interesting ambiance that aligns with the artistic aesthetic that the Pratersauna is known for and to leave our mark on the budding Viennese night scene.
